OTTAWA — At least four drivers struck deer over the weekend. The Franklin County Sheriff’s office said Stephanie Chambers hit a deer Saturday afternoon in the 800 block of Kingman Terrace south of Pomona. Lorenda Rogers of Wellsville was driving north on K-33 near I-35 when she struck a deer Saturday evening. George Bolling Jr. was driving south on I-35 when his car hit a deer in the road near the 15th Street exit at Ottawa Saturday evening. Edward Thompson Jr. of Ottawa was driving west on K-68 near Texas Road when he hit a deer east of Ottawa early Sunday morning. Franklin County Undersheriff Steve Lunger said you should be careful at this time of the year. The department receives several reports of collisions with deer each week, he said. And where there’s one deer, there are usually more deer, he said. John cay didn’t hit a deer when he was driving east in the 2800 block of John Brown Road near Princeton Sunday morning.
His pickup hit a calf standing in the road.
