OTTAWA — The East Central Kansas Area Agency on Aging will move across the street to 117 S. Main sometime next spring. The new building will provide more space and allow for private counseling as well as a community conference room, said Elizabeth Maxwell, ECKAA director. The new building will also allow the agency to store items for the elderly on one floor instead of dragging it up and down the stairs, she said. The move will also eventually pay for itself because the agency will own the building and not have to make lease payments, she said. The building will be remodeled and the agency could move in next March or April, she said.
