FORT HOOD, Texas — An Army medic who graduated from Paola High School helped treat victims of the recent shootings at Fort Hood, Texas. Justin Ross told the Osawatomie Journal that he helped victims while the shootings continued. U.S. Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hsan is being held in the shootings which killed 13 people and wounded 31. Senior Republicans in the U.S. House are calling for hearings into the way the intelligence community, the FBI and the Pentagon handled the case of Hasan before the shootings. Democratic leaders say any hearing should be done after the Army completes its criminal investigation.
