PAOLA — When cooking your Thanksgiving dinner, or any meal for that matter, always remember to practice food safety, said Diane Burnett, Miami County Extension family and consumer sciences agent. For example, some people still want to bake holiday bread in metal cans, which is a bad idea, she said. Many times, can makers put a thin plastic coating on the inside of the can, which will end up in your bread. Avoid baking bread in jars, she added.
