OTTAWA — The Ottawa Braves came from behind to beat Hastings 40-34 Saturday evening in the opening round of the NAIA national football playoffs. It was the Braves’ first win in the playoffs and the first time they hosted a national playoff game. The Braves got off to a rough start with quarterback Ethan Haller being intercepted four times. However, the defense, led by Josh Hojje’s 16 tackles, squeezed Hastings in the second half and Haller threw for 415 yards and 4 touchdowns. Receiver Clarence Anderson set an OU record by receiving for 291 yards and four touchdowns. The Braves advance to the quarterfinals and will play Saturday at St. Charles, Mo., against Lindenwood College. Lindenwood is coached by former OU coach Patrick Ross.
