OTTAWA — If you’ve never been a bell-ringer for the Salvation Army, why not give it a try?, asks Adam Lynch, local spokesman for the Salvation Army. It’s the group’s major fund-raiser of the year and a lot of bell-ringers are needed, he said. The Salvation Army wants to raise at least $22,000 locally through the holiday campaign, he said. Lynch said 88 percent of the money donated in Franklin County stays in the local area to help those in need. To volunteer to be a bell-ringer, call 418-1287.
