RICHMOND — The annual Richmond Christmas festival will be Saturday. Weather permitting, caroling begins at 6 while everyone gathers for the tree lighting ceremony downtown. The mayor will give the welcome speech, followed by a prayer and then the tree will be lit about 6:15. After the tree lighting, everyone is invited to the community building for a free-will donation soup-spaghetti supper. Santa will read a story to the children before visiting with them. The winners of the house lighting contest and the library’s Christmas contest will be announced after the dinner.
