OTTAWA — The Ottawa Wal-Mart SuperCenter gave a gift of $1,500 to the Ottawa Police Foundation Wednesday. Police Foundation board member Mark Eldridge and Ottawa Police Chief Dennis Butler accepted the gift on behalf of the foundation. Butler said the foundation’s mission is to raise awareness and community support for the Ottawa Police Department. The foundation’s goals include funding the award-winning summer DARE Camp, providing advanced professional development of police employees, buying advanced technology and creating of a police cadet program.
