PAOLA — Twenty Grandma Layton art prints are on display in the Ramp Gallery at the Paola Free Library. The prints are on loan from the Lawrence Art Center and will be at the library through the end of February. After taking one art class, the 68-year-old Elizabeth Layton, Wellsville, began a prolific career in art as a way to paint herself out of depression. Miami and Franklin counties’ mental health facilities are named after her. Portraits by area residents who used Layton’s blind-contour drawing style are also on display.
