GARNETT — For the second year, Chuck and Phyllis Gettler have lit up the town for Christmas. They’ve decorated their house on Seventh Street east of U.S. 59 in Garnett with thousands of lights. Phyllis Gettler told the Anderson County Review it took the family about five days to put up the lights this year. She said that included Chuck climbing up an antenna tower with a light string in his mouth and wrapping them around the tower on his way down. She said he’s planning a bigger display next year. She said she figures the lights added $200 to their December light bill.
