TOPEKA – With old man winter giving us all that he’s got, Governor Mark Parkinson signed a State of Disaster Emergency Proclamation to speed up emergency responses. Do to severe winter storms and dangerously low temperatures, the declaration calls for a five day suspension of parts from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act, which will allow workers to work longer hours in order to deliver propane to Kansas for heating. Counties named in the declaration include all counties in the KOFO listening area.
