CENTROPOLIS — The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department said Jason Dials slid off Idaho Road at Sand Creek Friday afternoon, went into a ditch and a hit a tree. He told a deputy he was driving north when a very large bird swooped in front of his pickup. He tapped the brakes but his truck slid on the icy road. He wasn’t injured.
