BUSH CITY — The Bush City Fire Department has the fire trucks, an old ambulance and other equipment but firefighters can’s use them. Anderson County emergency management director Marvin Grimes told the Anderson County Review that the Bush City fire station was so damaged from high winds that roared through the area during the Christmas blizzard that it’s not safe to enter to go in to remove the trucks and other equipment. Bush City trucks don’t have to make many calls during the year and other departments are covering Bush City for the time being, he said. An insurance adjuster has looked at the station. It’s probably cheaper to build a new station rather than repair the damaged building, Grimes said. Once a decision is made on what to do, he said the trucks, equipment and other items will be removed from the old station.
