GARNETT — Anderson County and Garnett sales tax collections have slid over recent months. However, the Anderson County Review reports that sales tax collections remain slightly above 2008 collections. Sales tax collections are a rough indicator of retail spending. Garnett has a half-cent sales tax recreation and library and street improvements and Anderson County has a 1.5-cent tax to help pay for the new law enforcement center.
