OTTAWA — At least four people remain hospitalized as a result of Saturday’s deadly pileup on I-35 south of Wellsville. The University of Kansas Medical Center said one accident victim is listed in critical condition, another in serious condition and two in fair condition. About 40 vehicles crashed in the chain-reaction accident in the fog Saturday. A three-year-old child was killed and several people were injured. The accident closed parts of the interstate for 14 hours. Franklin County Sheriff Craig Davis called it the worst accident he’s ever seen in his 30-year law career.
