BALDWIN CITY — The Baker University music department is forming a community choir. Matthew Potterton, Baker chorale director, said the Baker University Community Choir will sing a variety of songs, including traditional classics, spirituals, multicultural folk music and American folk music. If you’d like to take part, you should be able to read music or be able to practice music outside of rehearsals. Youths are welcome but must be old enough to handle a two-hour rehearsal. Rehearsals will be Thursday evenings from 6 to 8 beginning this Thursday, in McKibbin Recital Hall in the Owens Musical Arts Building at Baker. The choir’s first performance will be at Ash Wednesday services at the Baldwin City First United Methodist Church. Contact Potterton at (785) 594-4504 or by e-mail at [email protected].
