GARNETT — Bill Graham of Garnett’s Graham School for Cattlemen has died at 91. He taught at the Graham School from 1939 until he retired in 1998. The Anderson County Review reported that Graham had an extensive knowledge of cattle and training ranch horses. He was also a student of Indian mythology and culture. He had an extensive turquoise jewelry collection. He was a former Anderson County jailer and helped reopen the former jail to house prisoners. He told county commissioners they could save money by reopening the jail rather than renting cells elsewhere. That jail was demolished and the county built and opened a new county law enforcement center.
