OTTAWA — Because of a constant series of storms, the Franklin County fall harvest has become a winter harvest. Franklin County Extension farm agent Darren Hibdon said what has been one of the longest-running harvests on record is nearing an end – maybe. Over the last couple of weeks, the ground has firmed up enough to allow combines to get into the field to get the last of the crops in the field – if this weekend’s snow storms didn’t interrupt things – again.
