GARNETT — Neither snow nor rain nor gloomy economic fright can stay Garnett and Anderson County seniors from staying active. And Garnett recreation director Josh Elliott told the Anderson County Review that the city’s programs for seniors could increase once the city takes over the National Guard armory as a recreation center. Among ideas, ping pong tournaments, and areas for weight and cardio workouts and dance classes, he said. A walking path could also be marked out in the building. The city offers an aerobics class at town hall center on Monday and Wednesday mornings.
The Garnett Senior Center has activities almost daily, including in-line dancing on Thursday afternoons, and cards on Thursday evenings.
