GARNETT — The Garnett National Guard armory is scheduled to be closed at the end of the month. Sharon Watson, Kansas Adjutant General’s office, said it’s one of 18 that will be closed. The Garnett armory will be turned over to the city of Garnett. Although the city could convert it into a recreation center, the city commission has scheduled a public session on Feb. 23 to allow people to offer their suggestions about the armory.
