PAOLA — An elderly woman was killed in a mobile home fire about nine miles west of Paola in the 29000 block of Indianapolis Road Monday night.
Wellsville fire chief Robert Thomas said three people were in the trailer when the fire occurred. Thomas said the other two people were taken away by Miami County EMS and hospitalized before he arrived at the scene. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, he said. Investigators from the Kansas fire marshal’s office will be at the site later today.
