OTTAWA — Signs of the $9 million construction project at Ransom Memorial Hospital will soon be pretty obvious. Hospital CEO Larry Felix said that after workers finishing drilling cores for concrete piers, they’ll start filling the air with steel. The drilling began today. Once the piers are poured, crews will pour the floor, which will be for the surgical suite and contractors will start erecting the steel framework for the expansion, he said. The hospital is adding a new surgery and obstetrics unit and will make major improvements in patient rooms.
