OSAWATOMIE — A utility consultant has completed a study of Osawatomie’s electric and water rates. The Maximus group saids the city doesn’t need to increase its electrical rates. However, the Osawatomie Journal reported that the study recommends an 8 percent increase in city water rates. That would help keep a 15 percent reserve in the water fund. The city needs to make improvements in the water system, said city manager Bret Glendenning.
