GARNETT — Wichita radio personality Rockin’ Rick will visit the Garnett Senior Center Wednesday morning as part of his Kansas Senior Hunger Strike tour to highlight state funding cuts to senior nutrition programs. Mid-America Nutrition director Sharon Geiss says because of state funding cutbacks, the center will have to scale back deliveries and is in more need of volunteers and other funds to keep seniors in their own homes, which is much more cheaper than putting them into nursing homes. Rockin Rick will be in Garnett Wednesday morning at 9:30 and will finish his tour in Topeka on Thursday.
