OSAWATOMIE — An Osawatomie woman fell about 60 feet into the Marais des Cygnes River after a two-vehicle traffic accident Sunday afternoon. She and an Osawatomie man were taken to Overland Park Regional Hospital. The Kansas Highway Patrol said 29-year-old Tisha Miller had parked her car on the river bridge on U.S. 169 just east of Osawatomie. She, Charles Miller, Jr., 41, Osawatomie and Daniel Spriestersbach, 22, Osawatomie were standing outside the car when it was hit by a SUV driven by Michael Lee, 33, Paola, Troopers said. The Osawatomie Fire Department, which responded to the accident scene, said witnesses saw someone fall from the bridge during the accident. Firefighters said she made it to the riverbank and they hauled her back up to the road for treatment by Miami County EMS. She and Spriestersbach were taken to Overland Park. Charles Miller wasn’t injured. The highway patrol said Lee and two passengers in his vehicle weren’t injured.
