OTTAWA — A long-time farm tradition won’t happen this year. Keri Harris, of the Franklin County Conservation District, said because attendance at well-plugging demonstrations has fallen, the Conservation District and the Franklin County chapter of the Kansas Farm Bureau decided not to hold a demonstration this year, she said. However, there is still a need for the demonstrations because of the number of abandoned wells so they’ll try next year, she said.
