OTTAWA — This is the last week to apply if you need help in paying for premiums and other costs of your Part D of the Medicare prescription drug program. You’ll have to fill out the application on-line. You can check the Web site at socialsecurity.gov or call the East Central Kansas Area Agency on Aging at 242-7200.
Leslea Rockers, of the area agency on aging, said the Social Security Administration has loosened the rules to help more people, and even if the applicants don’t fully qualify, they may receive partial subsidies. She said the Web site or her agency can explain the requirements.
