OTTAWA — Organizer Ernie Rodina, creator and one of the organizers of Cowboy Days, said that last year may have been the last roundup for the popular event. Unless a new organization or groups can be corralled, there won’t be a Cowboy Days in Ottawa this year, he said. The event, which honors Franklin County’s cattle and horse heritage, has built a solid statewide reputation and has been a strong draw for visitors but has become too big for his committee to handle. Groups interested in taking over the event may call Kristie Lee at the Franklin County Convention and Tourism Bureau or Kathy Niehoff at KOFO. Cowboy days will be no more.
