GARNETT — Revenues at the new Anderson County Law Enforcement Center have dropped while Johnson County shuffles jail inmates at its new Gardner facility. The new Garnett jail has been housing inmates from Johnson County for four months. Anderson County jailer Bob Wedel told the Anderson County Review that Johnson County expects to send inmates to Garnett in a week or two. Wedel said he’s been talking to other counties that have been farming out prisoners as well. Anderson County hopes to help pay for the $5.5 million cost of the its new law enforcement center by holding other counties’ inmates at the rate of $45 per prisoner per day.
