OSAWATOMIE — Osawatomie city and Miami County officials have expressed concern about a new dike built by Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad. Osawatomie City Council member Tamara Maichel told the Osawatomie Journal that they’re worried that the new dike will keep flood waters from draining away from the city. She said local officials want a study of what effect the new dike will have on flooding and any needed changes made.
