LAWRENCE — An expert on adapting transportation networks to the wild weather caused by climate change will speak at Kansas University next week. Georgia Tech professor Michael Meyer will speak Wednesday from noon to 1 at the Gridiron Room in the Burge Union. He said Midwest engineers will have to develop better designs and stronger materials for culverts, bridges and roads facing more severe rain storms and extreme temperature changes. Meyer is the first of three global warming experts who will speak at KU this spring.
