OTTAWA — Children and teens who took free flights from the Ottawa Municipal Airport can do more flight training for free. Sue Snodgrass, of the Experimental Aircraft Association, said the free flight-training program is open to any youth who took a free Young Eagle and who is registered with the EAA’s headquarters in Oshkosh, Wisc. Since 2001, more than a hundred youths took Young Eagle flights from Ottawa, she said. About a million youths have taken the Young Eagle flights nationwide, she said. Those youths can get free ground-school training through the Sporty’s Air Web site to qualify for their air certificates. Check the Web site youngeagles.org to register.
