LAWRENCE — Pakistani doctor, author and rock star Salman Ahmad will perform a concert and sign copies of his book “Rock and Roll Jihad: A Muslim Rock Star’s Revolution” Thursday night at 7:30 at Kansas University. Ahmad is the founder of the South Asian rock band Junoon, which sold 30 million albums and which performed a benefit concert for victims of the 9-11 terrorist attacks in October 2001 in New York. Thursday night’s free concert is open to the public and will be at Woodruff Auditorium in the Kansas Union. His wife and fellow doctor, Samina, will present a Brown Bag Talk at 12:30 p.m. Thursday about her work with women and children in South Asia in the Sabatini Multicultural Resource Center. That is also free and open to the public.
