TOPEKA — Central Heights seventh grader Chase Brown is the Kansas spelling bee champion. He correctly spelled the word “genealogy” in the 25th round to win.
It was Chase’s third time at the state spelling bee. He’ll compete at the National Spelling Bee June 2-4 in Washington.
