OTTAWA — Franklin County Undersheriff Steve Lunger said if you decide to drive during times of flooding, you should always carry a cell phone in case of an emergency. You shouldn’t drive on a road that has water running over it, he said. Vehicles can be swept away by flood waters or drop into holes left by floods washing away part of the road. This week is Flood Awareness Week.
