OSAWATOMIE–What started out as a routine task became a public headache. Tony Savage owns the Flood Zone and Sports Bar at 1102 S. Sixth Street. He saw city crews doing repairs on an alley that runs along the north side of his business…so he asked the city to go ahead and gravel a parking lot south of his business. Rumors started flying that the city was doing work for a private individual. Actually, Savage had agreed to pay the bill for graveling the south parking lot. City Manager Bret Glendening said he didn’t give the matter much thought at the time…but given the uproar, he won’t do it again.
