WELLSVILLE — An Ottawa couple was taken to Overland Park Regional Hospital Saturday afternoon after the car they were riding in had a close encounter with two semi-trucks on I-35 just south of Wellsville. The Kansas Highway Patrol said a car driven by Mark Ambler, 50, Olathe, was going north on I-35 when he changed lanes to pass a semi-truck driven by 43-year-old Mark Anglin, 43, St. Croix, Wisc. Troopers said Ambler then changed lanes again to pass a semi driven by Mark Hazlett, 52, Osawatomie. Ambler’s car slid underneath Hazlett’s trailer and was dragged. When it came loose, the car was hit by Anglin’s semi. Passengers in Ambler’s car, Jeffrey and Michelle Feltner, both 36, were injured and taken to the hospital. No one else was injured.
