OTTAWA — After a rural couple was burned out, the Franklin County Commission offerd a helping hand, agreeing recently to waive the building permit fee for their new house. County planner Larry Walrod said the county doesn’t have a formal policy concerning the waivers but traditionally, the commissioners offer the free permits to those people who want to rebuild their houses after fires. Bob and Connie Wadkins received the free building permit for 241 Hamilton Rd., rural Pomona.
