BALDWIN CITY — Brett Ballard, Kansas University director of basketball operations, has been named the new head men’s basketball coach at Baker University. Ballard will be introduced at a news conference this afternoon at 1 at Baker. He played for the Jayhawks’ Sweet Sixteen team in 2001 and Final Four team in 2002. He has been involved in KU’s basketball program for seven years. Ballard succeeds Rick Weaver, who retired after 25 years as the Wildcats’ head coach.
