GARNETT — State budget cuts may slice more than $200,000 from the regional group that provides meals to senior citizens in Anderson County and surrounding counties. Mid American Nutrition Program director Sharon Geiss told the Anderson County Review that cuts of that size could force smaller nutrition sites in the area to close. The budget cuts amount to one-sixth of Mid America’s income and the group won’t be able to make up that much money from donations or fundraising, she said. Mid America Nutrition provides meals to seniors in Anderson, Franklin, Coffey, Linn, Miami and Osage counties.
