OTTAWA — Construction crews are applying the last bit of paint and cement to the new U.S. 59 expressway between I-35 and the Douglas County line. The final work is being completed and if things stay on schedule, the new highway will be opened to traffic sometime Tuesday, said Kansas Department of Transportation’s Priscilla Peterson.
