OTTAWA — Ottawa schools could lengthen the school days by 30 minutes in order to cut the number of school days by 11. Superintendent Dean Katt said it’s one of many cost-cutting measures the school board is considering. The board is giving the idea of compressing the school year strong consideration among other possible calendar but hasn’t completely decided to proceed, he said. The district calendar committee is still weighing the options, he said.
