OTTAWA — The district courts in Franklin, Anderson, Osage and Coffey counties will be closed on Friday, April 9. Fourth Judicial District Court administrator John Steelman said the shutdown is the first of four days ordered by the state supreme court because of state budget cuts. Steelman said non-judicial court staff will take unpaid furloughs that day. However, district judges will be available to do certain emergency court proceedings, he said.
