WASHINGTON DC–A watchdog group is charging that Kansas Senator Sam Brownback…who is running for Governor…has violated Congressional gift rules. The “Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington” says Brownback received improper gifts by paying below market rent at what is known as the “C Street House” in Washington DC. The group claims Brownback paid $950 per month for lodging and housekeeping, while similar accomodations in the area cost from $1700 to $4000 per month. Brownback’s office denies the allegations.
