OTTAWA — The county commission could adopt a policy concerning the snowplowing of county roads. Commissioners discussed the policy Monday. Public works director Jim Haag said the road department already has a policy since about 2000 and with a few additions, that could become county policy. The same as the present policy — blacktopped county roads would have the priority for the county’s snow-cleaning efforts, with maintainers concentrating on their road districts, he said. Haag suggested a few changes; the major change would create a list of contractors who can be called to help move snow in cases of emergency or unusually bad winter storms.
