POMONA — Candidates who aren’t likely to be allies of Mayor Janne Hancock were the top vote-winners in the Pomona election Tuesday. West Franklin principal Rick Smith, Richard Adler and Donald Lockaby were elected to the council with 154, 139 and 121 votes. Adler was the former mayor who Hancock defeated last election and Lockaby is one of the council members she’s suing in Franklin County District Court. The election results aren’t final until the canvassing is completed Friday.
