OTTAWA — To paraphrase Yogi Berra — for Pomona city voters, it ain’t over until it’s over. County Clerk Shari Perry said she has certified a petition asking for an election on a city ordinance concerning city employees that’s at the heart of Mayor Joanne Hancock’s lawsuit against the city council. Hancock and the council have been at an impasse over the appointment of city officials and once again, voters are being asked to referee. Perry said that unless the city requests a special election or repeals the ordinance, she’ll put the question on the primary election ballot in August.
