OTTAWA — It will be the history of history when the Franklin County Historical Society throws open its doors to members and the public at 2 Sunday afternoon at the records center, 1124 W. 7th St. Terrace. The Historical Society’s Deb Barker said that thanks to a two-year $65,000 federal grant, members have catalogued nearly 14,000 objects, 16,000 photographs, and collected an untold number of stories. The project has created digital records of every item held by the historical society, she said. The afternoon will be a presentation on the collection’s history since 1963 and then groups will visit several work sites for the cataloging project, viewing the rarely-open storage areas, conservation efforts, document scanning and things the public doesn’t normally see. Refreshments will be served. The public is invited.
