TOPEKA — Safe Kids Kansas says this spring, walk around your car before you get in and start it. You should take extra time to check for children, pets, or toys. Safe Kids Kansas director Cherie Sage said an estimated 200 children are killed and 5,000 injured in the u-s annually by driveway accidents. She says many of those accidents involve family members or friends. You should also teach children to be careful around parked vehicles and to be seen by motorists.
