KANSAS CITY — A former Leavenworth pastor has been given three years probation for lying to federal agents investigating an arson at his Sunflower Missionary Baptist Church in Leavenworth. U.S. Attorney Lanny Welch said 39-year-old Marvin Clay admitted that he concealed the fact that he knew another man set the fire. Clay knew about a week before that Carva Lee White intended to start a fire at the church and planned to inflate the cost of repairs and have the contractor pay them kickbacks. White was sentenced more than 12 years in prison.
